🏙️ Chicago Day was one for the books!

Our newest Foresters spent Wednesday this week exploring the city as part of their First-Year Immersion experience—and one of the highlights was sharing lunch with Lake Forest College alumni across Chicago!

From hearing career stories and learning about different industries to simply connecting over a meal, these moments give our first-year students a chance to see the Forester community in action and begin building relationships that can last well beyond their first year.

A huge THANK YOU to the incredible alumni who opened their doors at DocuSign, The Berghoff, CME Group, Environmental Design Group, The Civic Federation, The Art Institute of Chicago, Eataly, Echo Global Logistics, Adams Street, Hush Blackwell, Hall Prangle LLC, and so many more. We are so grateful to the alumni who shared their time and stories, and welcomed our newest Foresters to both the Lake Forest College community and the city of Chicago. 🏙️🌲

🎧 Turntables, memories & Forester spirit are coming back to campus! 📻

As part of Homecoming & Reunion Weekend, we’re bringing the WMXM community back together—and inviting you to step behind the mic once again.

Whether you were a rank-and-file DJ, General Manager, or somewhere in between, we’d love for you to join us for a 15-minute guest DJ slot and share the music that defined your time at the College.

As new and returning students prepare for the coming academic year, Tiffany Milliken ’05 is also beginning a new chapter in her Forester journey. After nine years of dedicated service on the Alumni Council, Tiffany is stepping into her new role as Chair—and we couldn’t be more excited!

We are so honored and proud to have Tiffany taking the helm. A former Lake Forest women’s basketball student-athlete, Tiffany brings a deep love for the College, a strong belief in the power of community, and a passion for creating meaningful connections among Foresters.

Throughout her nine years on the Alumni Council, Tiffany has been a thoughtful and dedicated volunteer, and we know she will bring that same energy, leadership, and Forester spirit to her role as Chair.

Rain or shine, Forester spirit knows how to have a good time! 🌧️🎶

Saturday afternoon, we gathered at Ravinia for a wonderful concert featuring the Okee Dokee Brothers, including our own Lake Forest College alumnus Justin Lansing ’07! A little rain couldn’t stop us from dancing, singing, and celebrating together!

We loved dancing along with our fellow Foresters, and were especially thrilled to see so many Class of 2007 alumni in the crowd cheering on their classmate! ❤️🖤

We were also delighted to be joined by President Mike Sosulski, Music Department Chair Scott Edgar, Music Department faculty member Don Meyer, alumni, families, and future Foresters for an afternoon filled with music, laughter, and community. We also loved bumping into Arielle Jones '24 working security at Ravinia!

We love having so many talented musical alumni in our Forester community, and it was a joy to see generations of Foresters come together through the power of music. 🎶🌳

Summer’s last stand—or just getting started? ☀️🌲

Wednesday night was a wonderful reminder that Forester pride doesn’t end at Commencement—it travels wherever our alumni go!

In Chicago, the Class of 2026 celebrated their 90-day reunion at alumni-owned Tripoli Tap, reconnecting with classmates, sharing memories, and celebrating the friendships that make the Lake Forest experience so special. A big Forester thank-you to Steve Nicoli ’87 for welcoming the Class of 2026 to his bar and helping make the evening one to remember!

Meanwhile, in the DMV, another group of Foresters gathered for a Nationals vs. Cubs game, bringing a little Forester spirit to the ballpark and enjoying time together. ⚾️ A special thank-you to Alumni Council member Susan Dumont ’07 for hosting our DC Foresters and bringing everyone together!

From Chicago gathering spots to baseball stadiums, our alumni are building community, staying connected, and carrying Forester pride with them wherever they go.

And we’re already looking ahead to the next big reunion! Homecoming & Reunion Weekend is October 2–3: register by Saturday, August 15 and get a FREE commemorative koozie! We can't wait to welcome you home!

For DeJanae Harges ’26, a career in law has always been about helping people. This summer, Harges will begin a two-year Professional Fellowship with Partners for Justice, a national organization that works alongside public defender offices. Based in Pennsylvania, she will serve as a client advocate, helping individuals connect with housing, employment, mental health, and other community resources while gathering information that can support their legal cases before trial and sentencing. When Will Cleveland ’26 graduated from Lake Forest College, he stepped into a role at the Chicago Botanic Garden that lets him spend every day outdoors while helping restore native ecosystems. As an ecological restoration technician, Cleveland rotates through prairies, woodlands, shorelines, and aquatic habitats, removing invasive species, planting natives, collecting seeds, and learning the science behind conservation. When Anna Hoffman ’26 arrived at Lake Forest College, she planned to become a lawyer. Along the way, internships, faculty mentorship, and research helped her discover a different path. Now, the data science and economics double major and public policy minor has been selected for a two-year predoctoral fellowship at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR), where she’ll work with economist Neil Mahoney on research that informs public policy.
