Thank You, JCST Coaches & the Parents of USSD and K-Star

An experience like this doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because of the incredible people behind the scenes.

To the Jackie Chan Stunt Team coaches, thank you for your patience, guidance, and belief in every student. You met each of us where we were, adapted to our abilities, and inspired us to become better every day. More than teaching world-class stunt training, you taught us that mistakes are opportunities to grow, progress matters more than perfection, and every challenge is another step forward.

From the head coaches to every assistant coach and translator, you welcomed us as teammates and made us feel like family. That is something we will never forget.

To the parents of USSD and K-Star, thank you for the sacrifices you make every single day. The early mornings, late nights, long drives, encouragement, and unwavering support gave your children the opportunity to experience something truly life changing. Your dedication often goes unseen, but it never goes unnoticed.

This journey belongs to all of us. The students stood on the training floor because of the coaches who believed in them and the parents who never stopped supporting them.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. We are forever grateful.

❤️ A Thank You to Jackie Chan

There simply aren’t enough words to express our deepest gratitude to Jackie Chan.

Thank you for welcoming us with such incredible kindness and generosity. From the moment we arrived, you and the Jackie Chan Stunt Team made us feel like family. Every moment reflected your humility, hospitality, and genuine care for others.

Throughout our time at camp, you taught us so much more than martial arts and filmmaking. You taught us the importance of teamwork, perseverance, respect, gratitude, and leading with love. One lesson that will stay with us forever is, “Culture, discipline, and respect.” Those words have become something we continue to carry with us every day.

For decades, you have inspired generations through your films, martial arts, and character. Today, you continue to inspire the next generation of martial artists, stunt performers, filmmakers, and dreamers.

It was truly an honor and privilege to train at the Jackie Chan Stunt Team camp and spend time with you. This is an experience our students, instructors, and families will cherish for the rest of our lives.

From all of us at United Studios of Self Defense, thank you for opening your doors, sharing your knowledge, and reminding us that the greatest legacy we can leave is the impact we have on others.

With heartfelt gratitude, thank you, Jackie Chan. ❤️🥋

🎬 CHINA | DAY 5: GRADUATION DAY

What an unforgettable way to end an incredible week.

Our final morning at the Jackie Chan Stunt Team Training Camp was dedicated to reviewing everything we had learned throughout the week. Students refined their fight choreography and Jackie Chan staff routine before performing for the JCST coaches, showcasing the hard work, discipline, and growth they had achieved over the past five days.

Graduation was an emotional celebration. It was filled with gratitude, reflection, and reminders of who we are and what we accomplished together. There were plenty of tears, but more importantly, there was a deep sense of pride. We didn’t graduate as individuals. We graduated as one team, representing the values that define the Jackie Chan Stunt Team: respect, culture, humility, teamwork, and perseverance.

The ceremony was also filled with incredible surprises, including breathtaking performances by members of the elite Jackie Chan Stunt Team and some of China’s most talented young martial artists. It was the perfect conclusion to an extraordinary week of training.

That evening, the memories continued at the closing banquet. The Jackie Chan Stunt Team welcomed us not as visitors, but as family. Their hospitality was second to none.

One of the greatest honors of the entire journey was sharing dinner with Jackie Chan himself. Students laughed, celebrated, signed one another’s graduation certificates, reflected on the week, and created memories that will last a lifetime. Several of our students even had the opportunity to perform in front of Jackie Chan, making an already unforgettable evening even more special.

This experience was truly once in a lifetime.

A heartfelt thank you to Jackie Chan, the Jackie Chan Stunt Team, Coach Philip and the entire K-Star team, and all of the parents and students who believed in this opportunity and worked so hard to make it a reality.

Congratulations to every student. You represented United Studios of Self Defense with honor, and we could not be more proud.

This may be the end of the camp, but it is only the beginning of the journey. 🥋🎬❤️

🎬 CHINA | DAY 4

Day 4 brought our students one step closer to the world of movie stunt work.

The day began with one of the most iconic elements of martial arts filmmaking: wire work. Just like the breathtaking aerial sequences seen in films such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Ip Man, and countless other martial arts classics, our students learned the fundamentals of safely performing on wires before progressing through a series of basic wire techniques. It was an unforgettable experience that gave them a firsthand look at the skill, precision, and artistry behind some of cinema’s most memorable action scenes.

While one group was training on the wires, the other stepped into a professional recording studio for a completely different side of filmmaking. Throughout the week, they had been memorizing the lyrics to one of Jackie Chan’s own songs in Chinese. They then had the opportunity to professionally record it in the very studio where Jackie Chan has recorded music for many of his films. It is also the studio where he recorded the voice of Master Splinter for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.

The afternoon shifted back into action filmmaking. One group continued developing and refining their fight choreography, building on the sequences they had learned earlier in the week. The other group explored the filmmaking side of action by learning camera placement, shot composition, and how different angles can transform a fight scene into something truly cinematic. Once finished, the groups switched so everyone experienced both the performance and production sides of martial arts filmmaking.

Every day continues to reveal another layer of what it takes to bring martial arts to the big screen, and our students are experiencing opportunities that very few people in the world ever get to have.

🎬 CHINA | DAY 3

Day 3 took things to another level.

Training became even more demanding as we pushed through advanced Wushu acrobatics before learning one of the most important skills in stunt work—how to fall safely and react realistically during fight scenes. Every movement, strike, and reaction has to look authentic while keeping everyone safe.

We also explored the evolution of martial arts cinema, learning how fight choreography changes depending on the era, dynasty, and story being told. From traditional kung fu to modern practical combat, each style serves a unique purpose on screen.

One of the biggest highlights of the day was a special presentation from renowned Chinese actress, martial artist, and stunt performer Xiaofei Zhou. International audiences may recognize her as the iconic Snake Charmer from The Karate Kid (2010), but she has also appeared in acclaimed martial arts films including The Grandmaster, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny, Ip Man 4: The Finale, and Double World. She demonstrated her martial arts and shared insights from her career in the film industry, giving us a rare opportunity to learn from one of China’s most accomplished martial arts performers.

The afternoon shifted into the world of movie magic. We learned how stunt teams use breakaway props like sugar glass, simulated wooden boards, and other special effects to create realistic action sequences. We practiced reacting to punches, weapons, and even arrow strikes, discovering how every detail is carefully designed to bring an action scene to life.

To finish the day, we reviewed Jackie Chan’s signature staff routine before performing it for the entire team—a rewarding way to end one of the most challenging and unforgettable days of camp.

Every day reminds us that becoming a stunt performer requires far more than martial arts. It demands discipline, precision, trust, teamwork, and an unwavering commitment to the craft.

🥋 CHINA | DAY 2

The intensity picked up on Day 2.

Our morning began with demanding conditioning, mobility work, and deep stretching before progressing into dynamic acrobatic movements. From there, students put their training into action by practicing traditional Kung Fu partner drills, learning how techniques are applied with precision, timing, and control.

The afternoon session raised the bar even higher. After another round of conditioning and reviewing our Kung Fu forms, the focus shifted to weapons training. Students had the incredible opportunity to learn fundamental staff techniques from the Jackie Chan Stunt Team before finishing with one of Jackie Chan’s own staff routines.

Every session is pushing our students physically and mentally, while giving them a firsthand look at the discipline, tradition, and world-class training that have shaped some of the greatest martial artists and stunt performers in the world.

This is only Day 2... and the journey is just getting started. 🇨🇳🥋
