Race to Space Reading Challenge - Additional Prizes ONLY for Santiago Students!!

This is an exemplary program where kids select STEAM topics or STEAM authors to read, and earn raffle tickets for amazing prizes. The program is partnered with the Orange County Public Library and run through Beanstack. It's also sponsored by OCDE and 100% FREE!!

It's easy to participate!

1. Sign Up
Register for the reading challenge through Beanstack.
Registration opens: Sept 4

2. Read
Read S.T.E.A.M. books and log your minutes on Beanstack.
Challenge dates: Sept. 25 – Oct. 16, 2026

3. Win!
Complete goals to earn rewards and tickets for bonus drawings.
Submit tickets by: Oct 17, 2026

Let’s talk GOALS & CAUSES! Like we mentioned before, we are always trying to make Santiago STEAM Elementary an even better place and that takes all of us working together to raise money. We are hoping to raise $25000 for:

- Funding Fall Festival, field trips, innovation lab improvements, garden projects, and yearly activities like the Scarecrows for STEAM contest.

We Need Help! - Volunteer to plan a STEAM Booth Activity

This is a fun way to help contribute to the fall festival. Create a small activity for kids to do at the festival. PTA will support with a small budget for supplies. No need to complicate it. Just something simple and fun to highlight how STEAM skills are used every day.

Save the Date - Friday, October 23

Everyone mark your calendars!! The Fall Festival is happening earlier than it's normally scheduled. In exactly one month from today the festival will be hopping. Wear a costume, come in comfy clothes, wear pajamas. Whatever is comfortable to socialize with friends and have some good STEAM fun!

This year we're featuring a new obstacle course and games, the book fair in the MPR, a dazzling Silent Auction, STEAM Booths, Trick-or-Treat Trail, food options and more!

The Time to Volunteer is NOW!!

We need your help to make all the wonderful things happen for our our kids at the Fall Festival. It takes individuals doing their part to make the group project a success.

STEAM Booths. We need 2 families
Plan a simple but fun STEAM activity for the kids. Get the supplies and setup the table. We will also have high school volunteers to run the table when you want to walk around with your kids. Looking to fill the Science and Technology table. In the past we've done slime, lava lamps, etc for science and cryptography, are you stronger than a magnet, evolution of the wheel activity, etc for technology. There are lots of ideas online. We provide a small budget for supplies.

Wristband Sales: We need at least 2 people committed to each hour of the festival. Since it involved cash, we need adults at these tables.

Trick-or-Treat Trail
Think trunk or treat but at a table. We are looking for 8-10 families to host table.

Scarecrows and Raise Craze Come Together!

Did you know you can pay your kindness forward by creating a Scarecrow poster that promotes kindness? Scarecrows art themes are up to the students and their own creative instincts, but if they earned donations for Raise Craze, they may opt to turn their art entry into a meaningful poster to spread kindness.

As of today we've raised about $14K. We still need to raise $11K. So we're more than half way there!!
