This week's tip: progress is never linear. It will involve setbacks and surges. Don't get discouraged! 🎹
Katie Franklin Ledsinger, pianist
HI! I'm Katie (aka katiepianolady). I teach piano to all ages and levels, in person or online. Thank you for visiting my page! I am "Katiepianolady".
I am also a collaborative pianist, specializing in vocal accompaniment. My passion is to help students of all levels become self-sufficient and confident pianists, focusing on note reading, musicianship, technique, and expressivity. I provide in person and online lessons, as well as tutoring and workshops in music theory, music history, music appreciation, and vocal coaching. My favorite thing to do is to collaborate with other musicians.

Summer is almost here…and it’s the perfect time to try some piano lessons! My studio is currently offering a flexible special Summer package. This is a great introduction to piano for your loved ones, or a great way to get back into those piano lessons you wish you’d continued as a kid.
Students in my studio grow their musical literacy, self-expression, and healthy piano technique in a warm, encouraging setting. Curious, open-minded students are always welcome!

Next tip: at least once per session play through your piece without stopping. Just keep playing and you'll start to learn how to recover from mistakes. 🎹
Don't "should" on yourself. Indulge your inspiration, and start practicing with what you actually feel inspired to practice. 🎹
This week's tip: don't be afraid to protect your practice time. It's okay to tell people to leave you be when you're practicing!!! 🎹
Next tip: listen. Listen to yourself. It's magic how just listening to yourself automatically makes you more musical! 🎹
This week's tip: practice makes permanent. Be careful when you're first learning a piace that you're playing the notes and rhythms correctly. 🎹
This week's tip: get into it. Back up from your difficult spot and get into it. See if you make a mistake when you get to your spot. If so, that's your new spot. Practice that, and it will smooth out. 🎹
Teeny Tiny Practice Tips are back. This week's: define your difficulty. Define WHETE your difficult part is, and WHY it's difficult. Then work on it. 🎹
This week's tip: let it simmer. Get up, and do something analog for 15-20 minutes. Let it simmer in the background, and when you come back, you'll probably have figured something out, or you'll be able to play it better. 🎹
