Hello, my name is Preethimali Wickramaratne! I am genuinely passionate about creating positive influences on our future generations physically, emotionally, socially, and academically. The first five years of a child's life are the most transformative, so I wholeheartedly believe that my guidance through Montessori methods provides life-long tools for creative and intellectual success. After moving to the United States from Sri Lanka in 2001, my husband, daughter, son, and I have been living in Orange County. Through our own philosophies as well as Montessori methodologies, we have nurtured a loving and kind home that is the perfect environment to foster personalized growth and holistic wellness.

MY EXPERIENCE
I have always carried a desire to teach. At 21 years old, I earned my Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) certification from the AMI Montessori Training Center at St. Bridget's Convent in Colombo, Sri Lanka. I became a Montessori teacher shortly after getting certified and have been teaching since 1981. During my first years of training, I was taught by students of Dr. Maria Montessori, the first female Doctorate and the founder of the Montessori Method. I taught in Sri Lanka for 20 years and, in 2001, was presented with the opportunity to teach in the United States. With an eagerness to continue teaching and expanding my reach, I accepted the opportunity and moved to the United States with my family. I have been teaching at Lake Forest Montessori School for the past 20+ years. However, I have decided that it is now time to branch out and follow my own path. As a result, I founded and opened Bright Minds Home Montessori in 2022. The privilege incredibly humbles me to run my own business while teaching children more personally and fostering their growth.
