Welcome to Keith McCarthy Academy! Our focus is to meet the needs of the alternative education student by offering quality teachers and coursework in a variety of settings. Our program allows for students to come to school when they need additional help, guidance, or a quiet, safe, and respectful environment to complete their work! Keith McCarthy provides a flexible schedule for students that have

goals that a traditional schedule might not allow. Keith McCarthy Academy was awarded A-G status as a school last year, as well as obtaining WASC certification. This validates the curriculum and instruction the students receive while attending our school and allows our students to earn credits towards any post-secondary program they may choose to enter. We are extremely proud of our school’s accomplishment. This year, we have amazing teachers and support staff who are here to serve your student and meet their needs. Our goal is to always ensure that our students receive a quality education that can open doors to the next stage in their careers. We will strive to continue to offer these programs with the same level of rigor as offered by the traditional schools and to improve on our achievement as our enrollment increases. Yesterday’s KMA Book Buffet was the ultimate success! 🎉Students gathered to read, discuss, and enjoy some company & a cup of hot tea/cocoa while they “tasted” some new & classic novels. Some of the student favorites of the day were: Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds, Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon, Born a Crime by Trevor Noah, The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien, and an Abundance of Katherine’s by John Green.
