The Health and Medical Careers Academy (HMCA) is a program comprised of three components:
A School within a School - Students move together through three academic classes and one technical (health-related) class that follows a thematic, interdisciplinary, health-related thread. Partnerships with Local Businesses - Students still take other required classes and electives offered at Temescal Canyon

High School, but they will have access to special opportunities provided by the business and community partnerships established within the HMCA. Work-Based Experiences - In their junior year,
students will have the opportunity to visit various
workplaces and job shadow.

Our Health Academy freshmen are already getting into the spirit of teamwork! Today, our CP and ADV Intro to Medical English class got moving with a fun “Medical Meet & Move” game! Students challenged each other with medical questions, practiced communication skills, learned fun facts about their classmates, and even took on a few “patient” scenarios. It was the perfect way to build connections, get comfortable with new classmates, and start seeing how important communication, listening, teamwork, and empathy are in healthcare! 💙
