Our daughter, Ashley, one year during azalea season. We cannot recall the occasion for the outfit. Now the mother of our three wonderful grandchildren...we are blessed beyond measure.

We had a delightful evening at St. James Saturday night! Great musicians and audience participants and all the camaraderie that goes with it! When we first started doing these jams some years back, we were told by the SongFarmers headquarters staff that these events were intended to be "jams only" for musicians...and an audience of "listeners" was not appropriate...we disagreed and always welcomed folks to "come out and clap and sing along or just sit and enjoy the music as it has been done on porches, in living rooms, churches, around camp fires, back yards and just about anywhere for generations. We have always welcomed both players and listeners to our Florida jams...y'all come on in and join us...always welcome!

Happy birthday to one of the greatest banjo players of all time, Earl Scruggs! πŸͺ•

Earl Scruggs was a founding father of bluegrass music who changed the game with the three-finger banjo. In 1945, he introduced what would later be known as "Scruggs style" to the Blue Grass Boys and forever altered the sound of bluegrass. In 1948, he teamed up with Lester Flatt to form Flatt & Scruggs, one of the most popular bluegrass acts of the 1950s and 1960s. Their hit songs, such as "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" and "The Ballad of Jed Clampett," cemented him as a bluegrass icon.

Scruggs revolutionized the banjo's role in bluegrass, turning it into a lead instrument and setting a standard for generations of banjo players. But there's much more to his story. Help us celebrate his legacy by commenting your favorite tune, performance, or memory of Earl Scruggs. Learn more about his life and career at www.bluegrasshall.org/inductees

What an incredible honor and surprise to be the subject of a very cool, complimentary and fun song such as this one written by Ken Bartolotti!! An honor and a privilege to be a part of such a fine group of outstanding folks musicians! Thank you to Ken and Sandi Bartolotti and to each and all who are a part of SongFarmers! We have a friend who always jokes with Skip when they have a show to do...he will call him if he is having trouble on a song and say, "Skip! I'm getting aggravated with this song! You need to get over here and holler these chords at me"! Thank you to Ken and Sandi and all the fine friends we know and love through music, each and all, all for being an inspiration and a joy! We love and cherish you, each and all! Play on! Play on!
