When setting goals, it's important to make sure they are specific, measurable, attainable, resourced and time-bound. This means that your goals should be clear, quantifiable, achievable, have the necessary resources, and have a deadline.
Specific
Your goal should be clear and specific. It should answer the question "What do I want to accomplish?"
Measurable
Your goal should be quantifiable so that you can track your progress.
Attainable
Your goal should be achievable given your current resources, skills, and knowledge.
Resourced
Your goal should be realistic given the resources, tools, and support that are necessary to achieve the goal.
Time-bound
Your goal should have a deadline, so you can work towards achieving it within a specific timeframe.
For example, instead of setting a general goal like "I want to increase sales", set a specific goal like "I want to increase sales by 25% in the next quarter by implementing a new marketing strategy and training sales team." This goal is specific (increase sales by 25%), measurable (25% increase in sales), attainable (with the new marketing strategy and training), resourced (with a budget for the marketing strategy and training), and time-bound (within the next quarter).
By setting SMART goals, you'll be able to focus on what's important, stay motivated and track your progress. Remember, setting goals is the first step, creating a plan of action and taking action is the key to achieve them!
