It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of our own, Zylen Dickson.

Zylen was more than just a member of the Lake City High Blue Guard Band, he was a leader, a source of joy, and a light to everyone around him. His passion showed in everything he did, and his smile and humor had a way of lifting not only his own spirit, but the spirits of those around him.

His presence made a lasting impact on this band, and his legacy will continue to live on.

We will miss him deeply, but we will never forget the light he brought into our lives.

Please keep his family, friends, and band family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Last Thursday, the Lake City High School Blue Guard Marching Band proudly celebrated our Annual Band Banquet! It was a night filled with awards, laughter, memories, and appreciation as we honored the hard work and dedication of our band family throughout the season.

🎶LCHS Students Earn Band Scholarships! 🎓

Congratulations to five talented Lake City Early College High School student musicians who have earned band scholarship offers to Benedict College!

D’Andre McDaniel, Jalayla McDowell, Jala Hughes, Jordan Boyle, and Solaria Nelson were selected following auditions with Benedict College Director of Bands Dr. Brendan Johnson during his visit to the school. Together, these students were offered $25,000 per year in scholarships, a total value of $100,000 over four years.

Dr. Johnson praised the students for representing Lake City High School with excellence both musically and professionally and commended the strong band program that helped prepare them for success.

We are proud of these outstanding students and their accomplishments and look forward to seeing all they achieve in the future. 🎺🐾
