McNeese PRIME students are hard at work this summer with staying active! Special thanks to Alex Rozas with the HC Drew School of Kinesiology in the McNeese Burton College of Education for agreeing to spend your summer with the McNeese PRIME students! Thank you for taking the time to show them how to stay active and healthy! This is another critical skill that will greatly enhance their quality of life!

McNeese PRIME wants to extend a very special congratulations to our very own intern, Shelly Simmons! She will be graduating with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a concentration in Family Science! Fun fact: upon graduation, she will also be eligible to apply for her certification as a Family Life Educator! Mrs. Shelly is off to pursue a master’s degree, and she is going to crush it! The time we spent with her this semester was so fun and special, and we sure loved having her around! She is going to do great things!!

For more information on pursuing this degree, please visit this webpage!

And that’s a wrap for the second semester of McNeese PRIME! We are halfway there!!! The students ended their semester by using what they learned in their PRIME 102-Career Readiness and PRIME 104-Functional Writing courses to complete a mock job interview! Students located job listings, completed resumes, provided references, completed mock job applications—all to bring with them to a face-to-face interview with their PRIME teacher! The students celebrated the end of the semester with a pizza party! It was well-deserved—they worked HARD. Good luck to our students taking finals next week! Summer break is almost here!
