Mrs. Snyder and Mrs. Heise’s Pre-K students are learning what it means to be a bucket filler. Students talked about ways they can “fill someone’s bucket” and make others feel happy like being a kind friend, sharing, helping others, and following directions. They created their very own buckets and added ways they can be bucket fillers each day. We love seeing our littlest learners grow in kindness, friendship, and responsibility! 💙💛

It was a busy day in 5th grade. Ms. Thomas’ 5th grade students kicked off the day with their first Socratic Seminar in ELA. They discussed the main characters in The Birchbark House and shared what they have learned so far about the Ojibwe tribe.

In Social Studies, students explored Romanesque and Gothic architecture. They examined different buildings and used architectural features to determine whether each structure was Romanesque or Gothic.

So much learning, discussion, and critical thinking happening in 5th grade today. 💙💛

Yesterday, Mrs. Romero’s 1st grade students became mathematicians and data collectors. They organized and counted sets of items, then shared and compared the different strategies they used to sort each category. Students finished by choosing either a chart or graph to represent their data. What a great way to build counting, organizing, comparing, and data representation skills through hands-on learning. 💙💛

Mrs. Willis’ kindergarten students had a great time learning through play during a Bear Hunt game. Students practiced one-to-one correspondence by matching and counting items, while also strengthening important skills like taking turns with classmates and following multi-step directions throughout the game. Learning is always more fun when it is an adventure! 💙💛
