Good news! You are able to complete your 2026-27 FAFSA starting today!

JUST IN 🚨 The Department of Education on Wednesday officially launched the 2026-27 , ahead of its October 1 deadline and over a month of beta testing: https://ow.ly/jlOJ50X1LGM

Per Federal Student Aid, StudentAid.gov will be down for maintenance over the weekend of Aug. 2-3, 2025. The maintenance will begin at 5 p.m. Eastern time (ET) on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025, and run until approximately noon ET on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025. Users will be unable to log in or create an account during this time.

If you need to fill out the FAFSA or make updates to your FSA account, please plan accordingly.

Students,

Per NASFAA, Pell grants and loans are NOT affected by the recent measure. Your financial aid will be okay.

We will be in Frazar Memorial Library from 1-4 P.M. offering assistance to both current McNeese students and local high school seniors with completing their FAFSA for the 2025-2026 school year.

There are spam emails and messages going around claiming to be from McNeese Financial Aid.

On Friday, April 5, you may have been notified that McNeese has received your FAFSA for the 2024-2025 school year.

We want to remind all students that this is only the beginning of the process and we will be working to complete files as quickly as we can.

The financial aid process is largely behind the scenes, and we will reach out to you as needed for any further information we may require to complete your financial aid application.

Users will not be able to log in to or create accounts for studentaid.gov on Friday, March 8th, due to planned maintenance.

This will affect users' ability to access the FAFSA form on that day. Please plan your FAFSA filing accordingly!
