Timeline photos 06/10/2021

Hey everybody, we are wanting to keep our Lake Charles Young Band Nation band program rolling through the summer this year. We don’t do this every summer but figured since we didn’t have quite as many performances as we usually do that this would be a good opportunity to invite other kids who maybe don’t have time during the school year, but are interested in trying it out to see how they like playing in a band. Here are the prerequisites:
1. Open to all middle school and high school students. 2. Open to any and all instruments. 3. Students must have at least 1 year of experience playing their instrument. Either through lessons, or being self taught. Students will be assessed so that they can be placed in a band with kids that are at the same skill level. We already have some cool ideas for performance opportunities so don’t sleep on this. Once the bands are set up it’s hard to make changes. This is also an opportunity for our current students to get a chance to play with kids they don’t normally get to play with. Call the studio today for more info. 337-513-7905. We are planning on starting rehearsals next week so don’t delay.

Well hey everyone, Marcus here. I just wanted to extend some gratitude out into the universe today. Our Spring jam gig at got rained out today, mostly because of the flooding, but then also because of the rain. We found a different venue short notice that wasn’t flooded, thanks so much . We called them last minute and they told us to bring it. So we packed up all the gear and headed to midtown LC. The weather was NOT HAVING IT. It continued to rain and stop and rain and stop. So although we got to have a good hang inside the restaurant the students didn’t get a chance to play. We ARE going to try to reschedule for next Thursday (more details coming soon) but need to get a few ducks in a row first. I am very lucky that I have been able to find and do something that I love greatly. I love playing music, I love teaching music, and I love working with our very talented and hard working kiddos. Thank-you all for showing up, not just to one place but two. Thank-you all for sitting there in the rain under umbrellas with me and saying, “This is going to blow over, just give it 15 minutes. You need a beer?” Thank-you for trusting us with your children’s music education and in finding value in what we do. It means the world to us that we get to do this . Sorry for the wordy post but I just had to put into words what I felt yesterday. So on behalf of my amazing group of instructors Kory, Lara, and .ron_jr Efron and myself thank-you for being so amazing. We will see you all very soon.
