I want to confirm with you that MATHCOUNTS IS STILL ON FOR 2021! There is a lot of information to tell you!
The competition will look differently this year – just like everywhere – the Chapter competition and the State competition will take place online/virtually.
All Chapter competitions will be held at the same time.
Save the date: FEBRUARY 5TH
The test will be available beginning at 1:00 PM EST (or 12:00 NOON for us) and will be available through FEBRUARY 6TH at 1:00 PM EST (or 12:00 NOON for us)
Top students will compete in a CHAPTER INVITATIONAL EVENT:
Save the date: FEBRUARY 25TH
The test will be given at one time – 7:00 PM EST (or 6:00 PM for us)
There are NO team competitions this year. Each student competes as an individual. Schools may register up to 15 individuals. IF YOU ARE NOT COMPETING AS A SCHOOL, YOU’RE STUDENTS CAN STILL PARTICIPATE AS A NON-SCHOOL COMPETITOR. Please pass the information on to them and their parents can register them instead.
PRACTICE TESTS:
Once you register, practice tests / competitions are available on these dates: OCTOBER 15, NOVEMBER 15, DECEMBER 15 AND JANUARY 15
Please take advantage of these as it will help the students prepare this year.
STATE Competition
Again, this will be online/virtual. The top students from the Chapter Invitational will compete at the same time.
Save the date: MARCH 25TH
The test will be given at one time – 7:00 PM EST (or 6:00 PM for us)
Stay tuned!
Chapter coordinators are working on prizes and awards for your students. We will let you know more details soon!
Other changes:
The goal is to return to in-person events next program year, but there are many exciting opportunities due to the move online this year. Two changes include (1) schools can register as many as 15 students (up from 10) for the Chapter Competition and (2) all registered students (plus an additional 50 students of the coach’s choosing) will have the opportunity to participate in 3 online practice events.
