Frazar Memorial Library is partnering with LaGrange High School and the community group Partners in Child Safety of Lake Charles to host an art exhibit on the topic of Child Abuse Awareness Month. The exhibit will be held in Frazar Memorial Library on Saturday, April 22, 1:30-3:00. The art is generated on a volunteer basis by students of LaGrange High School.

The McNeese Women and Gender Studies Lecture Series will continue its spring 2023 program on Thursday, April 20, 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the McNeese Room of Frazar Memorial Library. The program will be "Magic, Mending, and Mothering" featuring graduate students from McNeese's English and Foreign Languages Department. Panelists include Esther McKinney Courville, MA candidate, presenting "From Ribcage to Rhyme: Healing Like a Woman"; Emily Moss, MA candidate, discussing "Mothering and the Body: Feminine Dystopian and Utopian Portrayals"; and Rachel Pittman, MFA candidate, with "Alchemy in the Domestic Sphere: Transmutation as Daily Practice for Early Modern Ladies." A light lunch is provided through the sponsorship of the Juliet Hardtner Endowed Professorship Fund for Women.

The McNeese Women and Gender Studies Lecture Series will continue its spring 2023 program on Wednesday, March 15, 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the McNeese Room of Frazar Memorial Library. The program will be "Journey of an Artist" featuring Sajeela Siddiq. Ms. Siddiq holds degrees in business and art and is an MFA painting candidate at the University of Houston. Themes of duality and a search for belonging are inextricably woven throughout her life and work, informed by her perspective as a multilingual Pakistani immigrant. Her art expresses reflections on East and West, masculine and feminine, light and dark, ancient and modern. The free presentation will be offered via Zoom. A light lunch is provided through the sponsorship of the Juliet Hardtner Endowed Professorship Fund for Women.

The McNeese Women and Gender Studies Lecture Series will continue its spring 2023 program on Wednesday, March 8, 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the McNeese Room of Frazar Memorial Library. The program will be "Women on the Poles" featuring Amelia Meiburg. Ms. Meiburg will present a personal narrative of her experience in dance, plus dive into the perceptions of pole dancing as symbolism for women's power regarding perceptions of self, social norms, and standards of femininity. She will explore the significance of pole dancing and promote a new outlook on the art as a medium for women to claim and to exercise power for themselves. A light lunch is provided through the sponsorship of the Juliet Hardtner Endowed Professorship Fund for Women.
