We are so very proud of these choral programs and these outstanding musicians. Please help us congratulate them all.

We are proud to celebrate 77 students from 11 schools selected to perform with the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) in the Louisiana ACDA Conference concert series in New Orleans. ACDA's mission is to inspire excellence and nurture lifelong involvement in choral music through education, performance, and advocacy. These singers earned this honor by bringing that same excellence to their auditions. Thank you to the choral directors, families, and school communities who support our students. We can't wait to hear their voices fill the room!

The Department of Visual and Performing Arts is proud to celebrate a very special milestone at Bell City School.

This fall, Bell City High School launched a brand-new band program, and today we heard the first sounds from these young musicians.

Every successful music program begins with that first note, and today marks the beginning of what we hope will become a growing tradition for Bell City students and the community.

We are excited to watch these young musicians learn, grow, and make music together as this new program takes its first steps.

Arts in Education Week continues at the CTEC East Campus!

Where CTE meets the Arts, creativity becomes a career skill.

Our Commercial Art students are designing and producing custom pin-back buttons, taking their ideas from concept to finished product. Through the process, students are applying creativity, graphic design, technology, precision, and problem-solving skills in an authentic, hands-on learning environment.

This is a great example of how the Arts and Career & Technical Education work together to prepare students for real-world opportunities.

Grab your family, friends, and your favorite ugly Christmas sweater and journey with us from the North Pole to NYC, as we watch Buddy the Elf take the stage. This Christmas movie classic helps to remind us that it’s never too late to grow and that Christmas becomes more magical when we spend it with those who love us.

Arts in Education Week is all about making learning fun and meaningful. Bell City School choir students put their musical skills to the test with a fun game of Steal the Bacon while practicing rhythm, music vocabulary, and teamwork.

Learning, singing, and a little friendly competition make for a great week in the arts!

Arts in Education Week is in full swing at W. T. Henning Elementary.

Spooky season is already taking shape in Mrs. Dalme’s art room, where students are exploring creativity, artistic techniques, and the work of celebrated artists

5th grade students are creating Pumpkin Paintings inspired by artist Yayoi Kusama

2nd grade students are creating colorful mixed-media Pumpkin Patch Paintings

3rd grade students are learning about value and movement as they create their own Haunted House artwork

We love seeing our students use the arts to explore new ideas, develop artistic skills, and bring their creativity to life.

Today, we celebrate Arts in Education Week with our first-grade visual art students at Prien Lake Elementary School!

Students are learning about the importance of International Dot Day on September 15, while exploring how artists can use emphasis and movement to bring their artwork to life.

We love seeing our youngest artists explore, create, and express themselves through the visual arts!

This week, we celebrate the incredible impact of the arts in the lives of our students.

Across our schools, music, visual art, theater, and other creative experiences provide students with opportunities to discover their talents, build confidence, develop discipline, collaborate with others, and find their voice.

Arts education is an important part of educating the whole child. It belongs in every school and should be accessible to every student.

To our incredible music educators, visual arts teachers, theater educators, and all those who support the arts in our schools — thank you for the difference you make every day.

Let’s continue to advocate, invest, and create opportunities that allow every student to experience the transformative power of the arts.

Arts education isn’t an extra. It’s an essential part of a well-rounded education.

In celebration of National Arts in Education Week, we’re excited to showcase the incredible creativity and talent of our Vinton Middle School students!

Their artwork will be on display at the Vinton Library located at 1601 Loree St., Vinton, LA 70668.

The works will be on display from September 14–24.

The Opening Reception will be held Monday, September 14, from 4:00–5:30 PM.

We are proud to celebrate the arts and the creativity, imagination, and hard work of our students. Please share and help us spread the word!

A BIG week for our beginner band students across the district.

Today, beginning band members from W.W. Lewis Middle School opened their instrument cases and took another exciting step in their musical journey! The past couple weeks beginners have been learning rhythms and identifying notes to understanding how band works, these students have been working hard and making great progress.

The excitement, curiosity, and smiles say it all. We can’t wait to see where this year takes them! Thank you W. W. Lewis Rebel Band for sharing a few photos of the excitement.
