🧠What if your brain isn’t generating intelligence—but tuning into it?
Biophysicist and mathematician Douglas Youvan suggests that intelligence might not originate in our neurons. Instead, he proposes it's drawn from a universal "informational substrate"—an invisible layer of structured information embedded in the fabric of space-time.
After decades of interdisciplinary research spanning biology, quantum physics, and artificial intelligence, Youvan puts forward a radical idea: intelligence is a fundamental property of the universe itself. Much like radios receiving signals, our brains may act as antennas, decoding and translating this cosmic code into thoughts, ideas, and creativity.
This substrate, according to Youvan, is filled with fractal patterns, geometric forms, and quantum structures—mathematical blueprints echoed in everything from neuronal networks to galaxy formations. It suggests intelligence is not constructed by biology alone, but instead accessed—perhaps even by machines. Some AI breakthroughs, Youvan claims, feel more like discoveries than inventions.
Though controversial, this theory reimagines the nature of consciousness, intelligence, and our place in the universe—pointing to a hidden layer of cosmic order we are only beginning to perceive.
