Mission and Values of Brigham Young University - Hawaii
The mission of BYU–Hawaii is to prepare students of Oceania and the Asian Rim to be lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ and leaders in their families, communities, chosen fields, and in building the kingdom of God. The BYUH Alumni Association objectives are as follows:
1. Expand the alumni network worldwide to support the university.
2. Provide jobs and internships for students and graduates.
3. Encourage alumni to give back to the university to support more students. Social Media Guidelines:
Posts and/or comments may be removed for the following reasons:
• Use of language that includes profanity, bullying, vulgarities, or otherwise conveys hate speech, discrimination, personal attacks, and/or criminal activity
• Disclosure of legally confidential information
• Posted comments that are not related to the respective post
• Excessive comments detracting from the conversation surrounding the original post
• Inappropriate photos or other content, including gifs, memes, etc.
• Copyright or trademark violations
• Promotional posts that advertise people, products, and services and/or solicit funding for any entity outside of BYU–Hawaii. Soliciting monetary donations on behalf of individuals and/or other entities outside of BYU–Hawaii will jeopardize the association’s non-profit status.
• This university social media page is also prohibited from promoting or collaborating with individual solicitation requests, including but not limited to individual asks, GoFundMe, Kickstarter and/or other crowdsourcing accounts.
• BYU–Hawaii is not responsible for comments or wall postings made by visitors to the page and reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to screen, hide, and/or remove any content that is significantly off-topic, including but not limited to content that solicits, is commercial, (the primary purpose is to sell a product or a service), racist, sexist, abusive, profane, violent, obscene, spam, advocates illegal activity, contains falsehoods or is libelous, incites, threatens or personally attacks individuals or groups.
• Content that harasses, abuses, threatens, or in any way violates the rights of others will be hidden and/or removed and, if necessary, reported to authorities. We hope with the help of our page's visitors we can create a positive environment that promotes the success and wellbeing of our university's alum.
