Hawaiʻi Wildlife Discovery Center

Congratulations Michaela! Michaela Gaines joined HWF on Maui last summer as an intern working on our turtle projects and in the Hawai'i Wildlife Discovery Center. She is a veterinarian student at Huntingdon College in Alabama and in March 2026 she participated in the 58th Miss Huntingdon Pageant, winning recognition as Miss Philanthropic. Michaela succeeded in raising the most money for her cause: Hawai'i Wildlife Fund! She awarded HWF $5,400.00. We are awe-struck by the dedication of this rising star, who contributed to the protection of green and hawksbill sea turtles on Maui as well as educated hundreds of visitors while here, then went home and raised significant funds for our continued success. MAHALO MICHAELA!!! Together we rise!

Join us tonight, Lucky Friday the 13th with local musician Josh DiCaprio and enjoy our beautiful marine art and photos, and make your own! 5 - 7PM Friday nights... your donations keep our doors open!
