Everytime I look at photos this is what comes up. We didn’t know how tragic life would be. We had planned to live close to one another, for our kids to grow up together. Instead- there is a gaping hole where 4 people I love used to be. The idea that grief ends is (I believe) completely false. Djenny the tiger is coming for the fish head. She momentarily got distracted by the metal of the spear shaft. Then you see professional shark handler @thesharkmermaid separate djenny and the spear, as you can see djenny still snaps her jaws a couple times, this is not because she is trying to eat Liz’s hand this is because of a combination of djenny thinking she was about to eat a fish head, followed by Liz’s hand touching the sensitive underside of the sharks nose and the spear shaft still being right there. Tiger sharks have a reflex that when something touches the underside of their nose that their mouth will open. But holding her nose in this scenario is the correct way to keep the shark and the shark feeder safe. After a second or two djenny realizes she has nothing and will stop and then she can be redirected away. These sharks are going off instincts they have used to hunt evolved over millions of years. Sharks aren’t puppies and only a trained professional should be feeding sharks Disclaimer: the spear is not loaded, it is also not used ever on the shark.
