On Sunday, June 7, members of the American Legion Auxiliary South Orange County Unit 281 joined family, friends, fellow volunteers, and community leaders at the Niguel Botanical Preserve to celebrate the life of our beloved founding member, Donna Rae Mulvaney.
Donna was a dedicated and faithful servant to our Auxiliary, serving as our Sergeant-at-Arms and as the steward of our POW/MIA Remembrance Table, ensuring that the sacrifices of our nationโs missing and fallen heroes were always remembered with dignity and respect. ๐บ๐ธ
Her commitment to service extended far beyond our Unit. Donna was a lifelong volunteer, community advocate, Girl Scout leader, and devoted supporter of the Niguel Botanical Preserve. Through her countless hours of service and unwavering dedication to others, she touched the lives of so many throughout Laguna Niguel and beyond. In recognition of her extraordinary contributions, Donna was honored as Laguna Niguel Citizen of the Year.
During the celebration, members of the American Legion Auxiliary South Orange County Unit 281 proudly presented a commemorative wreath in Donnaโs honor, and Unit President Martha McNicholas shared heartfelt remarks reflecting on Donnaโs legacy of patriotism, leadership, friendship, and service.
Donna led by example. She believed in serving her community, supporting veterans and their families, and making a difference wherever she was needed. Her kindness, generosity, and dedication inspired all who had the privilege of knowing her.
While we mourn her passing, we are grateful for the many years she shared with us and for the lasting impact she made on our Auxiliary, our community, and our hearts.
Thank you, Donna, for your friendship, your leadership, and your lifetime of service. Your legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
Forever remembered. Forever cherished. ๐บ๐ธโค๏ธ๐ค๐
