I was very blessed to learn in my fashion school the complete fashion industry not only sketching and inspiration boards, it was years of pattern making, textile science and garment construction classes. Complete package! Now, let’s get educated about fashion industry:
What is the difference between a seamstress and a fashion designer?
A seamstress is someone who sews or mends clothes. A fashion designer is someone who designs and creates clothing. The two terms are often used interchangeably, but there is a difference between the two. A seamstress usually works with ready-made patterns and fabrics to create clothing, while a fashion designer creates original designs. Luckily I learned both! I don’t mind to be called seamstress as soon I charge a complete package $$$$$$ I charge my knowledge and experience which it is priceless! Very underestimated people with that amazing life skill to make alterations in garments to fit any body type, craftsmanship is a real gift 🙏🏼✂️📏💞
