Playing chess helps develop cognitive skills such as planning, pattern recognition, and logical reasoning. Because players must think several moves ahead and evaluate consequences, chess strengthens concentration, memory, and problem-solving abilities that also support academic learning.

We’re starting this as a way to gather community, kids and parents together, once per month…. Maybe it grows into a weekly chess club 🤷‍♂️

Our jiujitsu professor, Jason Bukich was a local grade school champ and is providing lessons!

“One of them, an expert in religious law, tried to trap him with this question: “Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?” Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.””
