We 💛 Farm Friday! Each Friday, our Willowbrook Campus happily receives a visit from farmer Paulo at our school's own local farm, Rebel Mountain. He brings a fresh harvest from the farm and prepares some seasonal snacks for our students to sample. Today, they were excited to nosh on some beets, cucumbers, and bananas during recess 🍌

Earth Day reflections and acts of stewardship 🌎 Our third grade classes spent a day helping to beautify Laguna's Main Beach. The classes had a picnic and collected trash left on the beach. Students were shocked at what they found in the sand and stuck in the seaweed. After this trip, students continued learning about conservation efforts and discussing how they can continue to help keep the Earth healthy. And in second grade, Frau Tina's class discovered many items during an on-campus creek cleanup. Besides cleaning the creek, students looked for macro-organisms in the water and found quite a few.

Save the date! 🎨 We are preparing for our upcoming Art Show at our Willowbrook Campus on Friday, May 15, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This event is a beautiful opportunity to celebrate your child's artistic accomplishments and mingle with families and teachers. We also encourage you to browse the artwork displayed in your child's upcoming grades and see the delightful projects that lie ahead for your student. Anneliese Schools is excited to continue upgrading our newest outdoor learning and community space for students and families alike, known as The Willows. This nature-inspired space has become the heart of our Willowbrook Campus for gathering, learning, and growing together.

We are hosting a family-friendly fundraising event for The Willows on Saturday, May 2, called “An Art Excursion.” Spend a lovely evening enjoying farm-to-table food, artisanal cocktails, plein air painting, a culinary atelier, and nature-inspired crafts for children.

This fundraising effort will propel us towards expanding our offerings in The Willows to add enhancements such as a sound system for the performing arts program, an extended kitchen for our culinary education and events, as well as a retractable awning for learning opportunities, to name a few. Our capital campaign is another way to contribute if you can't attend the Art Excursion Fundraiser event.

It’s time! You can register your student for our annual Anneliese Eagles Fun Run! Our goal this year is to raise $50,000 across our campuses in hopes of enhancing multiple aspects of our enrichment and specialty programming. For our Grade School students, we're raising money for instrument and tipi upgrades for the Music Department, and equipment and supplies for the Animal Program. For the Willowbrook Preschool, we're fundraising for a new art atelier and also a shade sail for our yoga deck. In South Laguna, our goal is to create a STEM and maker space.

We're looking for some wonderful substitute preschool teachers to join our team. 💛

"We share our love through acts of service." Our sixth grade class held a clothing drive for our Fijian sister school, a successful effort that followed multiple fundraisers throughout the year. This past week, they spent hours (along with parent volunteers), sorting and organizing the clothing by age so it can be distributed to children in Fiji. These students, their parents, and teachers will soon embark on their cultural studies immersion trip to Kadavu, Fiji, where they will deliver clothing and other goods to local villagers and spend time culminating their learnings in language, history, culture, and more.

Sixth-grade teacher Madame Roberta shares, "Thanks to the many hands that helped not only through our fundraising seasons, but through the collection, organization and packing of donations this week! I hope that you are feeling the Anneliese spirit in you as you watch your children explore the foundations of your family and our school values and ethics in real time! We will finish off the last of the donation luggage for you to bring on the great adventure to Kadavu!" 🌺
