This summer, three Laguna Beach High School students have their ceramic artwork featured online for the American Museum of Ceramic Art (AMOCA) in Pomona, California. AMOCA celebrates the artistry, innovation, and craftsmanship of ceramic work, and this year three LBHS students were recognized for their outstanding creations.

Thurston Middle School’s athletic program provides students with a variety of opportunities to get involved, compete, and grow. Through sports, student-athletes develop essential life skills such as teamwork, perseverance, dedication, and discipline.
Each year, students fill approximately 350 roster spots across TMS athletics, with many student-athletes choosing to participate in more than one sport. TMS offers a wide range of athletic opportunities throughout the year:

Thurston Middle School’s promotion ceremony was filled with excitement as students walked across the stage and received their certificates, celebrating the completion of their middle school journey.
These students are now preparing to become Breakers, marking an exciting new chapter in their education and the pursuit of their passions. With this important milestone behind them, they are ready to take the next step toward high school and all the opportunities ahead.

The MPR at Top of the World was filled with families, friends, staff, and community members as students crossed the stage and were congratulated by Mr. Turner on this significant achievement.
Having successfully completed their time at Top of the World, these students are now preparing for their next chapter in middle school. With smiling faces and a sense of pride, the excitement was evident as they celebrated reaching this important milestone.

The chants and cheers echoed through the streets of downtown Laguna Beach as Breakers marched alongside their families, friends, and community members in celebration of their upcoming graduation tomorrow evening.
Filled with smiles, excitement, and pride, the Breakers enjoyed marching down to Main Beach before taking part in the beloved tradition of tossing their graduation caps into the air.

El Morro Sea Lions officially promoted this week! Recognized for their hard work and accomplishments throughout grades K–5, each student was called by name and shared a favorite memory from their time at El Morro.
Families, friends, staff, and community members watched with tears in their eyes as this group of students celebrated the end of one chapter and prepared to begin the next in their educational journey.

LBHS seniors returned to the halls where their educational journey began, revisiting El Morro and Top of the World to celebrate a full-circle moment with the teachers who helped shape their path. It was a heartfelt opportunity to reflect on how far they’ve come, express gratitude to the educators who encouraged them along the way, and inspire the next generation as they prepare to take their own next steps.

📢 Laguna Beach High School student Hudson Quarles, Class of 2026, has completed a new mural in the school’s dance studio as part of a capstone project in the Art Entrepreneurship program.
Titled “Two Trees Jiggin’”, the mural was funded through a grant from SchoolPower and developed through a collaboration between the LBHS Dance Program and Art Department. Quarles worked under the mentorship of local muralist Claire Pedroza and spent several months developing the design before beginning installation.

LBHS Athletics is committed to developing well-rounded student-athletes. While success in competition is important, the program places equal emphasis on academic achievement, character development, and personal growth.
Through the Athletes of Character program, LBHS identifies student-athlete leaders who exemplify good sportsmanship and serve as positive role models on campus and in the community. Participants meet regularly throughout the school year to develop leadership skills, engage in team-building activities, support younger students through elementary school visits, participate in community service, and help promote a culture of character, integrity, and excellence both on and off the field.
