It is one of 18 chapters in the Metropolitan Region (http://metroega.org) which serves NY, NJ, CT and PA) of the EGA, Inc. Between local, regional and national offerings members learn and appreciate all manner of needlework techniques, and have great opportunities to enjoy and grow their skil

ls. Monthly meetings include education, social-stitch time, and a program presentation. The chapter maintains an extensive reference library available to all members. Skyllkill also engages in substantial community involvement & outreach.

Explore the educational options that emerged in 18th- and 19th-century Philadelphia for free and enslaved Black girls through an analysis of schoolgirl samplers with Dr. Lynne Anderson. Her virtual lecture, ‘For her much respected parents:’ Samplers by Black Girls in Philadelphia, will showcase samplers by Black activists in Pennsylvania’s anti-slavery movement; samplers by members of the Underground Railroad; and a recently uncovered group of samplers dedicated to the makers' “much respected parents.” Register now:

Let the games begin! The Skyllkill Fleas are packing up and getting ready to stock the Market tomorrow, looking forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday.
Yes, there has been major impact from Saturday night's storm in the area, but Freedom Plains United Presbyterian Church came through it fine - there is power and air conditioning. We plan to roll the Flea Market as planned!!

Doors open at 10am on Wednesday; shop until 1pm or sell-out. Don't forget the Silent Auction from 10am to 11am. Most merch sold by the standard grocery bag - fill it for $10 (can't beat that deal!). Some items priced individually. Yarn bags also available. Cash or check only, all sales final. Handicapped accessible. Questions? Email us at [email protected]
