Hello Arlington Community!

A quick announcement to hopefully answer some questions and ease some concerns....and I know we’ve announced this before....but just to be clear....

MUSIC (band, orchestra, chorus, general music) IS HAPPENING IN THE ARLINGTON SCHOOLS THIS YEAR!

For our younger, newer students and families, if you were enrolled in the music program when in-person learning ended on March 12th, you are STILL enrolled in our program! We cannot wait to continue to make music with you!

If you have specific questions or concerns, please contact your individual school’s music teachers and they will do the best they can to help you!

Dear Families,

We have just received word from the NYSSMA state organization that all 2020 solo festivals and major ensemble festivals are cancelled this season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We would like to encourage all students who were learning solos to keep working on those pieces as they are a great way for your children to keep playing their instruments and honing their musical and technical skills.

All payments for NYSSMA solos will be refunded. If your check has not been cashed, please talk to your child’s teacher to arrange for the return of the check. If the check has already been cashed, please be patient for Arlington to process the refund. The process may take a little while but rest assured, we will make sure that you receive your money back.

Thank you in advance for your understanding. We are all just as disappointed as you are.
