LaGrange College Ecuador Service Learning Trip 2016

I am asking for your help through SIFAT for the people of Ecuador. COVID-19 has affected the already poor country in significant ways. According to Dr. Roberto Contreras, 1 of 4 children under 5 is chronically malnourished and “…only 17% of the economically active population has a job that meets the minimum legal requirements.” I have been to Ecuador twice and served with Dr. Roberto. Although I know that many countries are struggling, I know him, and I know I can actually provide help to these people through a person who is there and the local pastors he works with.

I have been blessed to not lose any income during COVID, thus I am going to donate my $600 stimulus payment to SIFAT to be used by Dr. Roberto to provide food, vitamins, and medicine to Ecuadorians. Building science professor recognized with university Award for Excellence in Faculty Outreach Scott Kramer offers Auburn University students much more than a chance to study abroad and earn class credit.

The Ecuador service learning trip with SIFAT will be offered in January 2021. I would like to invite the alumni of this trip back for another round of service. Help me spread the word please.
