β¨ Thank You for Inspiring Our Students! β¨
A big thank you to Kaley Herbert (The Purple Hair Realtor) and Elese McKinley with Lake Martin Vibe Realty for visiting students this morning at the Troup County Career Center!
Ms. Kaley and Ms. Elese shared valuable insights about what it means to be an entrepreneur, the importance of being self-driven, and practical ways students can begin working toward their career goals. Students were very engaged and had several great questions about careers in real estate and the steps it takes to enter the field.
We truly appreciate you both taking the time to invest in our students and help them learn more about career opportunities in our community.
A special thank you as well to Ms. Tanulyn McKinley, our Workforce Ready Coordinator, for hosting todayβs session and helping connect students with professionals who inspire them to dream big.
π Thank you again, Kaley and Elese, for supporting our students and our school!

A huge THANK YOU to Ken Williford and Zack Stitcher from Milliken for visiting Troup High School and speaking with our students about career opportunities within their company!
Our students truly enjoyed learning about the rich history of Milliken and gaining insight into the innovative work the company does across so many industries. Hearing directly from professionals makes such a powerful impact and helps our students connect classroom learning to real-world careers.
We also greatly appreciate the generous Chick-fil-A lunches β such a thoughtful treat for our students!
Thank you for supporting Work-Based Learning and investing in the future of Troup High School and Troup County Career Center students. We look forward to partnering with you again soon!

π BIG congratulations to Caleb Harris and Ethan Rodas! π
They earned Gold Level Certification on their DECA SBE submission and achieved Gold Level Standard on all 10 required standards! π
This was a full certification year (which only happens every five years), meaning they had to meet all 10 rigorous standards instead of the usual 3 for recertification. Their hard work, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence truly paid off.
We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment and the effort they put into making it happen. Be sure to congratulate them when you see them! π

π Troup County Career Center Students Give Back During CTAE Month π
In celebration of CTAE Month, students from Troup County Career Center proudly participated in the Adopt-A-Mile initiative along Tom Hall Parkway, demonstrating their commitment to service and community pride ππ€.
Students representing Workforce Ready, Work-Based Learning (WBL), and SkillsUSA joined together to clean and maintain their adopted mile. Equipped with safety vests, , and trash bags, the students worked diligently to remove litter and beautify the roadway. Their teamwork and dedication resulted in multiple bags of trash collected, helping to keep Tom Hall Parkway clean and welcoming for residents and visitors πβ¨.
This initiative reflects the core values of CTAE programs β leadership β, responsibility, employability, and community engagement β€οΈ. Through Workforce Ready and Work-Based Learning, students develop essential job skills while learning the importance of giving back. SkillsUSA members continue to model excellence in action by serving their community beyond the classroom π.
The Adopt-A-Mile project is more than a clean-up effort; it is a powerful example of students taking ownership, showing pride in their community, and putting their career-ready skills into practice.
Troup County Career Center students are not only preparing for the workforce β they are making a difference today ππ.
