At the Atlanta Writers Club Meeting, I got my certificate for being the runner up for the Rick Bragg Award for Best Nonfiction. "Short On Sight, Long On Vision" is the true story of LaGrange College Political Science Graduate Katie Hearn Stich , whose birthday is also today. She has had such an impact on so many LC programs, the Atlanta Braves, and so many people inspired by her story!

We got some great news from LaGrange College History and Political Science Graduate Ryan Melia, also a member of the LC LaGrange Panthers football team. Here's what he wrote me: "I am working for Reap International schools. I have a ten-month contract in Ho Chi Minh City / Saigon. I am teaching quite a few subjects. World history, US history, World Geography, English to adults and I'll be taking over for Earth Science with middle schoolers as someone has take to in for a science teacher. I am hoping to pick up some Vietnamese and French while I am there. I will be teaching in English....I'll keep you updated!" Can't wait to hear more adventures of this amazing young graduate! Nitkowski give a big shout-out to LaGrange College Political Science Graduate Katie Hearn Stich (and LC Sports Management Club Advisor) in the 4th Inning. I was going to tell Katie this, but as I pulled up her LinkedIn page, I came across this great story she posted. I am so happy she works for an organization that recognizes her incredible contributions to the team.
