Encourage your student to continue their reading! Summer is fun but it’s also a time to strengthen your academic skills and expand your reading skills!

Learning doesn't stop when the school year ends. This summer, several LPSS schools will open their libraries for students to check out books, take Accelerated Reader (AR) tests, and continue building strong literacy skills.
Summer Reading & AR Opportunities
• Broussard Middle: June 10, 24; July 8, 22 (10 a.m. - 3 p.m.)
• Burke: Tuesdays & Thursdays in June and July (9:30 - 11:30 a.m.)
• Charles M. Burke: Wednesdays through July 29 (9 - 11 a.m.)
• Cpl. Middlebrook: June 10, 24; July 15, 29
• Dr. Raphael A. Baranco: June 3, 9, 23; July 8, 13, 22
• Duson Elementary: June 2, 4, 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25, 30; July 2 (10 a.m. - 12 p.m.)
• Edgar Martin: June 8, 18; July 1, 16, 28 (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.)
• Evangeline Elementary: June 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 (8:30 - 11:30 a.m.)
• L. Leo Judice: June 3, 10, 17, 24 (12 - 5 p.m.)
• Martial Billeaud: June 10, 17, 24; July 1, 8 (9 a.m. - 1 p.m.)
• Milton: June 3, 10, 17; July 8 (9 a.m. - 2 p.m.)
• Myrtle Place: June 8, 10, 17; July 14, 16 (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.)
• Prairie Elementary: Every Wednesday in June and July (3 - 5:30 p.m.)
• Ridge Elementary: Multiple dates in June and July (8/9 a.m. - 1 p.m.)
• Southside High: June 16, 18, 23
• Woodvale: June 10, 16, 24; July 15, 21, 29 (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.)
