In 1986, with the vision to provide Christian education for families in the Acadiana area, First Baptist Church opened First Baptist Christian School. Now, years later, FBCS is a Cognia accredited school, State Approved, and a member school of ACSI and NACS with Grades preK3 through 12. FBCS provides Biblical integration in all subjects taught. Core courses include Bible, English, math, science, a
nd history. Other courses offered are music, art, library, Spanish, journalism, PE, along with private music lessons in voice, piano, guitar, and violin. Our Fine Arts Department offers choir, handbells, and other opportunities for students to perform. FBCS provides college prep courses and TOPS requirements in high school. Our curriculum includes Christian publishers ABEKA and BJU Press. Technological advances with Promethean Boards and Chromebooks available make learning more interactive, interesting, and fun. FBCS administers Iowa Tests, preACT, PSAT, and ASVAB to students and encourages all high school students to take the ACT. FBCS has a growing athletic program including football, volleyball, basketball, cross country, baseball, golf, and track. Our students participate in academic competitions such as District and State Literary Rallies, Math Olympics, Speech Meet, Creative Writing Contest, and Art Fest. With dedicated teachers, FBCS is committed to partnering with parents to equip students to reach their full potential by providing academic excellence in a Christian environment. We are proud to celebrate Aaralyn Crenshaw for her outstanding achievement at the National Senior Beta Convention in Nashville, Tennessee!
Aaralyn placed 5th in the nation for her anime drawing. Her talent, dedication, and hard work shine through in her artwork, and we are thankful for the God-given gifts she continues to develop and share with others.

Join us June 23–25 for three fun-filled days of learning volleyball skills, building confidence, making friends, and having a great time on the court. Open to boys and girls entering 1st–6th grade, including both FBCS students and non-students.

📣2026 Cheerz Cheerleading Camp
The girls spent the week at Cheerz Cheerleading Academy in Lafayette perfecting old skills and learning new ones. Specifically, they learned how to stunt!
