We're kicking off our weekend by shining a spotlight on Kendra Potier! π«Άπ
Kendra has served as a Nutrition Educator since 2017. She works with families and educates them on the importance of healthy eating. Her favorite part of her job? Seeing kids grow up over the years - from when she sees them as newborns to when they start walking, talking, and getting ready to start school.
We're grateful for you, Kendra, and the love you pour into this community. Thank you for your great work! ππ

Ten years ago, thousands of residents here in our community and across South Louisiana were impacted by the 2016 floods.
As we have done so many times before, we picked each other up and supported one another. That's what makes this place and our people so special. ππ
10 years later: Acadiana residents recall 2016 flood
The 2016 flood remains a defining moment for many Acadiana residents, who are marking the 10th anniversary of the disaster that inundated homes in Lafayette Parish.

August is National Immunization Awareness Month and with school right around the corner, there's no better time to make sure your family is up to date. π
Vaccines protect your kids (and everyone around them) from serious, preventable diseases. Check with your child's pediatrician about the shots they need before the first bell rings, including any required for daycare, school or college.
Not sure what's due? Your provider can help. Find more information from the Louisiana Department of Health: https://ldh.la.gov/immunization-program

In Louisiana, about 1 in 10 residents receives healthcare services from a Community Health Center. Health centers offer primary care, dental and mental health services to residents across our community, no matter their insurance status or income.
Health centers are a critical component of our local healthcare system and we're so grateful for the work they do across our Southwest Louisiana region!
Happy National Health Center Week! ππ

All drownings are preventable, yet drowning is the leading cause of death for children ages 1-4 in Louisiana. Simple steps like keeping young children within armβs reach of an adult around water, using correctly sized life vests, and more can save a childβs life.
Together, when we all practice water safety, we can protect every child in Louisiana from drowning.
