Our International Student Council showed up for University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s early Saturday morning to give back to our beloved city Lafayette and university. Our group represented Nepal, Egypt, Colombia, Iran, Nigeria, Spain, Pakistan and Malaysia. Thank you Parish Proud for showing us how to care for our city’s Girard Park for all to enjoy.

Due to forecast weather conditions, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette will transition to remote instruction and remote operations on Monday, Jan. 26.
On-campus dining will continue normal operations on Monday.
The Drop/Add period has been extended through Wednesday, Jan. 28.
The University will continue to monitor weather and road conditions. An update regarding plans for Tuesday, Jan. 27 will be shared by 6 p.m. Monday.

Presenting you the most special edition of ISC Student Spotlight for 2025 with Mr. Sarbagya Kafle!!!!
Sarbagya is a fresh graduate from Nepal 🇳🇵who completed his Ph.D. in English from UL Lafayette this Fall. He started his journey in Fall 2019 and has built a tremendous track record of academic contribution, research and extracurricular involvement. He has been awarded with the inaugural 'Outstanding International Student Award' this semester introduced by ISC with a collaboration to UL Lafayette Division of Global Engagement and UL International Alumni Network.

Congratulations to 'Sarbagya Raj Kafle' from Nepal 🇳🇵 for winning the very first 'Outstanding International Student Award' for Fall 2025!
This award has been introduced by ISC this year with a collaboration to UL Lafayette Division of Global Engagement and International Alumni Network. The responses were great, and more than 30 applications were received from the graduating international students this semester. It is not an easy task for the juries to select one out of these super qualified individuals.
But Sarbagya stood tall among all with his impactful teaching, international academic service, research and leadership role in different extracurricular involvements. Sarbagya is a PhD candidate in Rhetoric and Composition at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, specializing in transnational and digital rhetorics.
He is graduating this semester, and we wish him success in his future endeavors.

ISC Student Spotlight: November 2025
Meet Farooq Azam Khanzada from Pakistan 🇵🇰!
Farooq is a Ph.D. candidate from Civil Engineering and all set to graduate this December.
Hailing from the city of Abbottabad, a city from Northern Pakistan Farooq started his journey at UL in Fall 2022. As an inherent researcher and student leader, Farooq won lots of recognition and awards for his academic and extracurricular activities. He was the founding President of Pakistani Student's Association (PSA) and also served as the Vice-president of GSO.
We wish him best for his future endeavors!
