We would like to CONGRATULATE all our members who entered the Tri-Parish Horse Show this past weekend! These members will go on to compete in the District Horse Show in July. CONGRATULATIONS to Emmie Grace Fontenot for winning Overall Halter Mare Champion, Grace Martin Senior Premier Exhibitor, and recognition to our senior members Sophie Deckard and Grace Martin!

We are excited to welcome Alexis Funderburk and Carter Aucoin, who have been selected as interns with the Lafayette Extension Office through the LSU AgCenter. We are thrilled to have them as part of our team this summer and look forward to the energy, ideas, and dedication they will bring to our programs and community outreach efforts.

Alexis Funderburk is proud to call Lafayette home, and her journey with the LSU AgCenter has truly meant so much to her. From serving communities across Louisiana to completing her work right here in Lafayette Parish, each experience has deepened her passion for helping others live healthier lives.
As she finishes her M.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics and work toward becoming a Registered Dietitian, Alexis is excited to keep giving back—through education, outreach, and real, practical solutions that make a difference.

A graduate of Acadiana High School and current student and livestock judging team member at Blinn College, Carter Aucoin from Scott, Louisiana is eager to dive deep into the summer internship program at LSU AgCenter. Committed to the agricultural industry, he plans to further nourish his passion for educating the youth in the ag world while working alongside parish agents to help development and organize events, as well as numerous opportunities for the Lafayette Parish youth.

🔥🍔 Grilling Up Fun with Lafayette 4-H! 🍔🔥
Lafayette Parish 4-H recently fired up the grills at Acadiana Park Campground for an awesome Grilling Camp experience! 🎉
4‑H’ers got hands-on as they learned:
✅ The importance of food safety
✅ How to choose quality cuts with meat selection tips
✅ The skills to grill the perfect hamburger 🍔🔥
It was a day full of learning, laughter, and building confidence around the grill! 💪👏
