4-H Be Web Wise poster contest
1st-8th grades
Did you know October is Cyber Security Awareness Month? |
Enter the 4-H Be Web Wise Contest this month.
Create a small poster (8.5"x 11") to illustrate safe use of the Internet or mobile devices in a positive way for kids like you.
Create original artwork (cannot contain trademarked images) related to:
-Not giving out personal info online
-Only visit safe websites
-Using social media privacy settings
-Dangers of online gaming
-or anything that shows how to use the Internet safely
Put Name, School, Grade on back.

You have until October 30, 2026 to submit to the 4-H office.
Prizes will be given to:
Elementary School Division Winner
Middle School Division Winner

Ribbons will be given to 1st - 3rd place in each division.

4-H MARINE & WILDLIFE ART contest
1st-8th grades
To enter in this contest. Create an art piece depicting a wildlife or marine animal of your choice. This can be done in any art style, too!
Art piece needs to be on a flat surface (like paper, cardstock, small poster, etc.) to be easily transported for judging.
Be sure to put your name, school and grade on the back.

You have until October 30, 2026 to submit to the 4-H office.
Prizes will be given to:
Elementary School Division Winner
Middle School Division Winner
Ribbons will be given to 1st - 3rd place in each division.

4-H Cloverleaf Project Achievement
4th-6th grades

A fun way of sharing something you have learned is to do a 4-H project! Our county contest will be held during your November club meeting. You will stand in front of the club and 4-H leaders will judge your demonstration (ask your teacher if this is a requirement for a class grade). County winners will receive ribbons in January.

This month's 4-H Friends magazine and the tips flyer we give you this month tells you everything you need to know about how to do a 4-H project. If you have any questions or need help, please call the 4-H office at 706-638-2548. We are here to help!

The first place county winners in each project area will have the opportunity to move on to District in February.

Walker County 4-H Community Club meeting will be Monday October 19, 2026 from 5:30-6:30pm at Walker Co. Ag Center in Rock Spring, Georgia. Club is for youth in grades 1-12.

Today we will have Walker 4-H’ers showing beef cattle, market goats and wether dam does!
Tomorrow will continue with market does and market lambs! Then lambs will finish up on Sunday!
Good luck to all our 4-H’ers!

Jesse is Jr. Showmanship Beef 8th grade heat 3 and Bred and Owned Heifer Red Angus Class 6.

Weston in goat showmanship 2nd grade Heat 1.

Alice and Evelyn in goat showmanship 5th grade.

Market Goat recordbook books announced between breeders/county groups and class 1 market wethers.

Market wethers: Evelyn is class 2, Weston class 3, Callie class 5 & 11, and Gregory is class 6.

4-H JUNIOR SENIOR DPA
Any 7th-12th grade 4-H'er planning to
compete in 2027 JR/SR District Project Achievement needs to email Mrs. Casey at [email protected] by October 1.

A portfolio must be completed in advance along with a presentation, a cooking demo, or performance to be given during the competition held on Friday-Sunday February 26-28, 2027.
