Sorors! It’s the first of June. Are you ready to, “Feed the Movement?”

This week, we are Wearing Pink, Spending Green, and Buying Black by intentional spending with Black-owned restaurants, cafes, bakeries, food trucks, and beverage brands.
Our sorority's collective goal is $8 million this month, and it starts with just $19.08. That’s one delicious meal, one specialty coffee, or one sweet treat. Let’s help “Build Our Economic Wealth,” one bite (or sip!) at a time.

Tag your favorite local food or drink business below, and let’s celebrate together!🩷💚🖤

Meet up at KOK Wings and Things tonight! 3221 Ambassador Caffery Pkwy, Lafayette, LA 70506.

Our Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) participants have been busy with various activities and events! On Saturday March 7, 2026, as part of their Cultural Exposure module, our young leaders explored food within the Creole culture via a cooking class taught by Greedy's to Go owner and instructor,Krystal Martel-Moses! The YLI participants were taught lessons in cooking safety and etiquette. They prepared a sausage Creole dish and created their own milkshakes!🥤🩷💚

Further exploring local culture, on Saturday April 11, 2026, the YLI participants attended the Belle of the Boil Book Launch by author and chapter member, sister Andrea Brew-Harrison, and enjoyed a lively book reading. The YLI participants also viewed and discussed the different type of art exhibits submitted by local elementary, middle, and high school students at the Breaux Bridge public library.🩷💚

The YLI Committee is led by chairman Keena Jean-Louis and co-chairman Mary-Elizabeth Thibeaux-Clay!🩷💚

Last month during Black Maternal Health Awareness week our chapter’s Generation NEXT committee partnered with our undergraduate sisters of Epsilon Beta and hosted a live well, serve well health education seminar covering the topics of Black maternal health, infertility, oral health, and nutrition at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Thank you to our dynamic, expert health care professionals who served as panelists, for sharing their knowledge in their respective fields, empowering our attendees with questions to ask their health care providers, information about their health services, discussing health care resources, and delivering health information and advice to better their health.

Thank you to the moderators of each Q&A panel session and all of the guests who attended and supported the event. Thank you to SWLAHEC for supplying health information pamphlets and swag bags and the W.I.S.E. Foundation for the donation of toothbrush kits. Thank you to the planning committees of both chapters.
