Thank you International Student Council for showing up early for ’s One Big Event community service. Our group represented Nepal, Egypt, Nigeria, Spain, Pakistan, Colombia and Malaysia.

Thank you to alumnus, Clara Chong , for sharing her professional journey with Northwestern Mutual and for sharing how she celebrates Lunar New Year in the U.S. and growing up in Malaysia. Ho I red that Dean Mary Farmer Kaiser, Dr. Gang and Dr. Guo joined us to celebrating the Lunar New Year of the Horse!

Join us as we celebrate the Lunar New Year and enjoy a special meet-and-greet with international alumna Clara Chong, who currently works with Northwestern Mutual here in Lafayette. This will be a wonderful opportunity to connect, network, and hear about her professional journey.
We’ll kick off the event with a fun round of Lunar New Year Bingo, and refreshments will be provided for everyone to enjoy.

Led by the Division of Global Engagement, this week highlights UL Lafayette’s enduring commitment to international education and its significant contributions to global learning, teaching, and research.

Monday, November 17 from 3 to 5 pm
Fulbright Program Open House – Learn about the Fulbright Program, explore international study and research opportunities, and meet Fulbright alumni who will share their experiences. Location: Student Union, room 136

Monday, November 17 from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm
Explore Engineering Courses in Barcelona. Learn about available courses and how to apply for the College of Engineering Study Abroad Award. Get answers to your questions about the program, course registration, and logistics. Location: Rougeau Hall, Room 324.

Tuesday, November 18 from 11:30 to 1:00 pm
F-1 Visa Essentials: Staying Compliant and Exploring Employment Immigration Options. Hear from an immigration expert Location: Student Union, room 209

Wednesday, November 19 from 3 to 5 pm
Study Abroad Information Session & Gilman International Scholarship Workshop. Learn about summer 2026 study abroad opportunities and how to apply for the Gilman Scholarship to support your international experience. Location: Student Union, room 136

Thursday, November 20 from 6 to 9:30 pm
International World Cup Soccer Match – Cheer on your favorite team and enjoy an afternoon of friendly global competition. Location: Intramural Sports Complex, 500 Coliseum Rd. Lafayette.

Friday, November 21 from 10 am to 2 pm
Culture Fest – The Cultural Connections Board, College of Liberal Arts, Division of Global Engagement, and International Student Council present Culture Fest! Celebrate the diversity of cultures represented at UL Lafayette through music, food, art, and performances from around the world. Location: Student Union courtyard and porch.
