Early College Academy

🏆🦅 APPARENTLY, WE’RE HAVING A MOMENT. 🌶️🏈

The results are in, and Early College Academy has taken 1st Place in Acadiana’s Choice for Best High School AND 1st Place in the Ragin’ Cajun Costume Showcase! 🎉

A huge thank-you to our students, families, faculty, staff, and everyone who voted for the Eagles for Acadiana’s Choice, and another huge thank you to the UL Lafayette Alumni Association for honoring our love of Cayenne!🌶️🦅

Now, ECA famously doesn’t have sports teams…
But apparently, we do have a competitive streak. We just express it through academics, school spirit, and occasionally dressing an Eagle like a Cajun. 😂

Meanwhile, the Ragin’ Cajuns are 3–1 and heading toward Homecoming Victory, which gives us another perfectly reasonable excuse to spend the weekend cheering, celebrating, and wearing way too much red.

So while our Eagles aren’t taking the field on Friday nights, we are bringing home first-place honors—and we’re perfectly happy to let the Cajuns handle the football part.

🏆 1st Place — Acadiana’s Choice: Best High School
🌶️ 1st Place — Ragin’ Cajun Costume Showcase
🏈 Ragin’ Cajuns — 3–1
🦅 ECA — Still finding ways to compete without actually having a sports team

Turns out, you don’t need a scoreboard to have a winning two weeks.

Geaux Eagles. Geaux Cajuns. And apparently, geaux find something else for us to compete in. 🦅🌶️🏆

CELEBRATING HISPANIC-AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH: LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA

During Hispanic-American Heritage Month, ECA is celebrating the many Hispanic Americans whose creativity, talent, and contributions have enriched American culture. Today, we’re shining the spotlight on Lin-Manuel Miranda, an award-winning songwriter, actor, producer, and director whose work has made a lasting impact on theater, music, film, and education. 🌟

🎶 A Revolutionary Approach to Musical Theater

Lin-Manuel Miranda is the creator and original star of the Broadway musicals In the Heights and Hamilton. His work has brought diverse stories, cultures, and musical styles to audiences around the world.

His musical In the Heights tells the story of a vibrant community in New York City’s Washington Heights, exploring themes of family, dreams, and finding home. The musical earned four Tony Awards in 2008, including Best Original Score for Miranda, and its cast recording won a Grammy Award.

🇺🇸 Reimagining American History

Miranda’s Hamilton combines the story of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton with a musical style that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and traditional Broadway. The production became a cultural and educational phenomenon, earning numerous honors, including the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and 11 Tony Awards.

🌎 Celebrating Culture Through Creativity

Beyond his work in theater, Miranda has contributed to numerous film and music projects, including Moana, Encanto, Vivo, and The Little Mermaid. His official website also highlights the Miranda family's longstanding commitment to community activism, the arts, and relief efforts in Puerto Rico.

📚 A Lesson for Our Students

Lin-Manuel Miranda's career demonstrates how storytelling can connect people, celebrate culture, and introduce new perspectives. His work reminds us that the arts can be a powerful way to explore history, identity, community, and the experiences that shape us.

At ECA, we are proud to celebrate Hispanic-American Heritage Month by learning about the people whose talent, ideas, and contributions continue to enrich our nation. ❤️💛
