Students were treated to a table full of goodies designed to encourage healthy habits and help them manage the stresses of everyday life, including:

The first day of classes at South Louisiana Community College is here! As full-time college students, you're taking another exciting step toward earning your associate's degree while still being an ECA Eagle. 🌟

Here are a few important reminders to help you start the semester strong:
📍 Double-check Canvas before you head to class! Classroom locations can change, so be sure you know where you're going before you arrive.

⏰ Arrive early. Give yourself plenty of time to find your classroom—especially if a room assignment has changed.

📖 Read each course syllabus carefully. Your syllabus is your roadmap for the semester! It includes important information about assignments, grading policies, due dates, attendance expectations, and instructor contact information.

📅 Advisory meetings are MANDATORY. Be sure to attend your scheduled Advisory meetings with Ms. Mistrot. These meetings are an important part of your success at ECA and help keep you on track for graduation and your college goals.

📧 Check your LPSS email and Google Classrooms every day. This is how ECA communicates important announcements, deadlines, scholarship opportunities, events, and other information you don't want to miss!

🌟 Even though your classes are with SoLAcc instructors, you're still an important part of the ECA family! Join an ECA club, attend school events, and stay connected—you'll build friendships, develop leadership skills, and make the most of your high school experience while inspiring the next generation of Eagles.

❤️💛🦅 Most importantly, remember—you are still an ECA student! Your teachers, counselor, and administrators are here to support you throughout the school year. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions or need assistance.

We can't wait to see all you'll accomplish this year. Stay organized, work hard, ask questions, and continue striving for excellence. You've got this, Eagles! 💪🎉

❤️💛🦅 What a Great First Three Days, Eagles! 🦅💛❤️

What a fun and successful start to the 2026–2027 school year for our 9th and 10th graders! 🌟 We have already seen students learning, laughing, making connections, and jumping right into the ECA experience!

During the first two mornings, our upperclassmen took the lead, guiding freshmen and sophomores through a series of orientation rotations. 🦅🤝 Students learned about school rules and expectations, technology, and the ECA/SoLAcc campus while participating in activities designed to help them feel comfortable and confident. 🗺️💻📚 The mornings were followed by shortened regular class periods, giving students a chance to meet their teachers and begin learning.

Then came Friday—a full day of school! 🎓 Students participated in a Safety Presentation from the school district, turned in their summer reading assignments, and took quizzes based on their summer learning. 📖📝 They also completed diagnostic assessments, showing off what they already know and helping their teachers understand where they are academically. From there, our Eagles jumped right into new learning! 💪📚✨

And, of course, we had to have some fun! 🎶🕺💃 During Friday's lunch, PE & Health Instructor Erin Belsom brought the energy with an epic Dance Off! Students cheered, laughed, and enjoyed some well-deserved fun together. 😂🎉🎵

🎬🍿 Cinema Club also kicked off the year Friday afternoon! After school, club members gathered to watch a classic back-to-school movie and enjoy some time together. 📽️🍿❤️💛

Three days down—and what a great beginning! We're excited to see our students continue to learn, grow, work hard, get involved, and make memories throughout the year. 🌟📚

And now... we're looking forward to seeing our juniors and seniors on Monday! 🎓🦅 We can't wait to welcome our upperclassmen back to campus and get the whole ECA family together again!

❤️💛🦅 Welcome to the First Day at Early College Academy! 🦅💛❤️

The first day of school is almost here, and we can't wait to welcome our Eagles back to campus! Here's what freshmen, sophomores, and families can expect as we kick off an exciting new school year. ✨

⏰ Students must arrive by 7:05 a.m.
Upon arrival, students will sign in and be assigned to a small orientation group.

🤝 Orientation Groups
Our amazing upperclassmen will serve as guides, escorting each group through a series of 20-minute orientation sessions designed to help students feel confident and prepared for the year ahead.

Students will learn about:
📚 School rules and expectations
💻 Technology and digital resources
🗺️ A fun campus scavenger hunt to help everyone become familiar with ECA and the SoLAcc Devalcourt building

🍽️ Lunch
After completing the orientation sessions, students will enjoy lunch with their classmates.

📝 Meet Your Teachers
Students will then attend each of their classes for a shortened class period, where they'll meet their teachers, receive course expectations and syllabi, and begin preparing for a successful year. Students in English classes will turn in their Summer Reading assignments, and students in science classes will turn in summer assignments and/or take quizzes.
