Thereβs a new display in **Patio 3!** Mrs. Wedlake and student teacher Ms. Manfre created the space to showcase the talented artists on our campus, and the first pieces are officially up!
The opening display features work from Art 2 and Art 3 through an assignment designed to help us get to know the artists behind the artwork. ποΈβ¨

Students will begin receiving their student IDs on Monday. Please remind students to keep up with their ID and lanyard once they receive them.
π» Chromebook Distribution
Chromebook distribution will begin this week for students who have paid the required device fee.

Ms. Hundleyβs classes are getting into the spirit of our rodeo theme! Using old relics from the Wild West time period as inspiration, students are putting their observation skills to work through detailed observational drawings.

ποΈ Day 2: The Scientist Tower Challenge
Today, 7th grade science students focused on communication and teamwork. Each student wrote ONE word on a notecard describing what they think a scientist is like. Then, using only those notecards, teams had to work together to build a freestanding tower.
The collaboration, creativity, communication, and problem-solving I saw today were AWESOME! ππΌ

This week, Ms. Robinβs 6th graders took on the Cup Stack Challenge, putting teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills to work while building something even more importantβrelationships! π

Encourage your students to join our Nationally Recognized, Award-Winning Jr. Beta Club!
β Returning 7thβ8th grade members must reapply.
β New students in grades 6β8 are invited to apply.
Students must pick up a YELLOW application flyer in the gym or from any ELA teacher on campus in order to apply. The flyer includes the link to complete the digital application.

It was a great day welcoming our 6th graders to campus as they officially began their middle school journey! From learning new routines and meeting new faces to settling into life as a Trojan, today was all about helping our newest students feel at home at LJA.
Tomorrow, we bring all three grade levels together for the first time this school year. Weβre ready for a great year ahead! π
