What do LAECA and Mrs. Beasley have in common? Ah! Some of my younger friends are thinking “Mrs. Who?”
Before Buffy the Vampire Slayer there was a little girl named Buffy on a weekly television show called “Family Affair.” Buffy had a doll named Mrs. Beasley that was mass produced and millions were sold across America.

LAECA and Mrs. Beasley are both beloved through time and are celebrating their 60th birthday this year!

Yesterday evening, I took LAECA on a little road trip to good ole Deridder, La to surprise Jamie Mayes!

If you aren't familiar, let me reintroduce her! She is a mother, an educator, a brilliant speaker, an author, and an advocate for all learners, teacher/parent connections, and self-care! We had the honor of hosting her as our Keynote speaker a few conferences back!

Heads up! You'll get the privilege of seeing her speak again as she makes her way around Louisiana to promote her Common Connections project. It's something you wouldn't want to miss!

We love you, Jamie Mayes! Thank you for being that spark that Louisiana Educators need! 🫶

We hope everyone is doing well! The 60th Anniversary of our Annual Conference is quickly approaching.

We are still looking for like-minded individuals who would like to bring their brilliance, their passion, and/or their creativity to be a part of something special.

We took a trip up to good ole Monroe, LA to dig into the history of LAECA! We're excited to work with our historian, Sarah Weir Cox, to look through years and years of our organization in hopes to find great memories that we can bring to our 60th Anniversary!

Recently, we were asked if we needed to have a Spanish-only presentation to network our Spanish-speaking EC Educators.

We love this idea! However, this is definitely not a resource we need to waste.

We would need the feel of who may benefit from certain Spanish-only presentations. What do you think? Do you or a coworker need this resource?

**Perks of being one, the other, or both: lead person receives free registration to the conference, which also includes meals, exposure, and networking.
