This morning, a threat occurred between two (2) students at Fairlane Elementary School. At no time did any situation place students in danger, and the administration immediately addressed the situation between the students. The School SRO and administration investigated immediately, and at this time, no verifiable threat has been found. Our student safety has always been, and remains, the priority.

Important Milk Update for Parents and Guardians:
As of August 27, 2026, we have not found an official recall involving Prairie Farms school milk cartons supplied from Bowling Green, Kentucky. However, after speaking with our Prairie Farms representative in Scottsville, we learned that cartons bearing date codes 29 through 31 were directed to be pulled due to reports of the milk clumping. Those cartons were removed. Our cafeteria staff check and record milk temperatures and dates every day. We take all reports concerning food quality and student health seriously and are working directly with Prairie Farms to address this matter. We appreciate the parents and families who brought these concerns to our attention. The health and safety of our students remain our highest priority. We will share additional information if an official recall or further guidance is issued.

Important Notice to Parents and Guardians from Macon County Schools Nutrition Department:
We are aware of reports that some students have gone home feeling ill and concerns that the milk served at school may have been spoiled or out of date. Please be assured that our cafeteria staff check and record milk temperatures and expiration dates every day. Milk is stored at the required safe temperature, and these records are maintained as
part of our daily food-safety procedures. We take every report concerning student health and food safety seriously. At this time, we have not confirmed that the milk served at school caused any reported illness. We will continue closely monitoring all milk products and following required food-safety procedures. Parents or guardians with a specific concern are encouraged to contact the School Nutrition Department directly and provide the student’s school, date, meal period, and any available details. This information will help us investigate the concern promptly and thoroughly. The health and safety of our students remain our highest priority.
