A productive JA in a Day at South Newton Middle School!
On May 22nd, the students at South Newton Middle School participated in engaging JA learning experiences that provided skills and concepts needed to get a job, perform it successfully, and also learned about the importance of ethics in the workplace and everyday life.
The 6th Grade students learned about job hunting skills, researching potential careers, building a resume, and proper behavior for an interview while participating in JA Itโs My Futureยฎ.
During the JA Excellence Through Ethicsยฎ program, the 7th Grade students learned the importance of ethics and necessary steps to make ethical decisions. They discussed making ethical decisions with social media, personal finances, dealing with businesses and customers, and starting a business.

Students discussed the positive impact of soft skills when interviewing for a job, for workplace communication, using cell phones in the workplace, communicating about themselves, and on applications and resumes.
