LCG invites you to join us for the official groundbreaking of the Prejean Road Roadway & Drainage Improvements Project. This $3 million infrastructure investment will raise and pave Prejean Road from just east of Gourmet Road to Sunflower Estates Lane while adding storm drains beneath the roadway. These improvements are designed to enhance driving conditions and help reduce flooding in the surrounding community.

Lafayette has been awarded nearly $8 million in federal Safe Streets funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation to advance safety improvements along Johnston Street—supporting safer travel, better visibility, and improved access for everyone who lives, works, and does business along this vital corridor.

Monique Blanco Boulet Lafayette Parish Mayor-President notes, “Funding a mega project like Johnston Street/Louisiana Avenue is not easy and will require funding from many difference sources. With this $8 million award, we now have over $35 million from local, state, and federal funding sources secured to invest in Lafayette’s core, beginning the process of building connectivity, walkability, and safety as we transform Lafayette into a place our children want to build their businesses and raise their families.”
