I. Call to Order
• Meeting was called to Order at 3:30 P.M. By Paulette Bogetto
• List of Officer Duty’s sheet was handed out and attendance was taken.
II. Mission
• To create: a sisterhood, an empowering environment, a lifetime of recognition, a lifetime of contacts, scholarship opportunity, emotional support, an opportunity for charitable work, a network of information, a place for gathering, meeting, working, and socializing, to create a legacy ( The mission statement was included in the agenda and passed out to each person)
III. Election of Officers:
• President - Ashlynn Thinnes (Yes-3 No-0)
• Vice President - Shannon Daugherty (Yes-3 No-0)
• Secretary - Nicole Haley (Yes-3 No-0)
• Communications Officer - Paulette Bogetto (Yes-3 No-0)
• Senator - Nicole Haley (Yes-3 No-0)
• Alternate Senator – Shannon Daugherty (Yes-3 No-0)
IV. Business
• Paulette Bogetto motioned to have a Purple Ribbon Day on Tues. Oct. 16th from 9 am to 3 pm for Domestic Violence Awareness Month in the Grand Hallway. The Women’s Society will pass out fliers for the YWCA about domestic violence and hand out purple ribbons. Women’s Society would like to sponsor a campus wide event by having the students and staff to wear a purple shirt that day in support of Domestic Violence Awareness. Motion was seconded by Karen Cadwellader and passed with a vote of 3 yes’s and 0 no’s.
• Paulette Bogetto motioned to have a campus wide Pink Shirt Day on Thur. Oct 25th to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The motion was seconded by Shannon Daugherty and passed with a vote of 3 yes’s and 0 no’s.
• Shannon Daugherty motioned to spend $25 on decorations for the Women’s Society Pumpkin Patch room during the Trick or Treat event on Oct. 26th. Our Advisor Wanda Pelton will be ordering the decorations on-line from Oriental Trading Company before the event. Motion was seconded by Karen Cadwellader and passed with a vote of 3 yes’s and 0 no’s.
• Paulette Bogetto motioned to change the date of the bake sales from Dec. 4th to Dec. 5th from 11 am to 2 pm in the Student Lounge. Motion seconded by Nicole Haley and approved with a vote of 3 yes’s and 0 no’s.
V. Open Floor
• It was discussed that the members and their families are invited to a social event at Arrow Head Bowling in Lafayette on Oct. 13th starting at 3pm. This event will be for entertaining purposes and we will not be using any of our account money.
• We brainstormed about ideas and decorations for the glass showcase c that we have reserved for the Women’s Society from Nov. 26th to Nov. 30th.
• Please bring a donation of a craft or Christmas decoration to the next meeting.
• Our next meeting is tentatively set for Friday Nov. 2nd at 4 pm – 5pm.
VI. Adjournment
• Paulette Bogetto motioned to adjourn the meeting at 3:30 pm. It was seconded by Shannon Daugherty and passed with a unanimous vote of 4 yes’s.

If anyone is interested Here is the info for De Trash the Wabash Happening this Saturday...
De-trash the Wabash is an annual event in which hundreds of volunteers come together in the spirit of community service to help clean up the Wabash River. This event unites both the young and the young at heart for a common goal: cleaner waterways.
Join us for the De-Trash the Wabash 2012 April 21 from 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Tapawingo Park/Riverside Skate Center
Volunteer registration from 8:30-9 AM at Riverside Skating Center. Wabash Landing has generously agreed to provide free parking in the garage across the street. Volunteers should bring a non-disposable water bottle, wear rugged shoes, and dress for the weather.
