Sweet Harmony Studio Have fun learning to play the piano and develop a strong connection with the instrument! I plan to start offering these lessons in December.

After teaching piano traditionally for 12 years, I knew I wanted to make music accessible for everyone. I knew that many of my students quit because music reading was too challenging and slow. As I explored other methods, I discovered that with Simply Music students learn how to play and read more challenging songs successfully and learn how to improvise, create their own music and play accompanim

ents too! Students light up at their first lessons because they are enjoying themselves from the start. The Simply Music method is playing-based, accessible, and loved by kids and adults, ages 5 to 85. I have been teaching the program for 13 years and taught my 17 year old son, who is still playing piano today. Additionally, I currently am finishing up my training for the Piano Keyboard Games books based on Edwin Gordon's Music Learning Theory, an audiation based approach for children ages 4 to 6 years. I teach from my home studio in Lafayette. To keep everyone safe at this time, lessons are taught online, very successfully. Please call to set up a free introductory session! The grand piano is back in its place in our home. Hurray! Still more to do with our remodeling but taking a break until next spring. The piano will be tuned on Friday and ready for piano duet rehearsals for the Multiple Piano Festival this month.

Sweet success! With one tip from me my adult student played a section of her piece instantly smoother. Piano tip of the day: Our eyes can only focus on one spot on the piano at a time. Look at the hand that is traveling and let the other hand go on automatic pilot. She did it and the very long pause is now gone! Great job, Valerie!
