Our last TAG Week Donor Spotlight goes to The Huval Family in honor of David S. Huval, Sr. This lab’s modernization was funded in honor of David S. Huval, Sr., a civil engineering graduate with a 57+ year career in bridge engineering. Our next and final Donor Spotlight of day six is Dr. Henry E. Heatherly. He passed away in September 2018, and through this gift in kind he wanted to ensure that his library lived on to provide resources for students in the Department of Mathematics for many years. The Northwestern Mutual Sales & Research Lab provides a learning environment for students to train for professional sales presentations in an interactive, real-world business setting. Unveiled in August 2007, the almost 90,000-square foot facility named in honor of his father, Leon Moncla, houses multiple units for student- athletes to train. His $2 million dollar gift to establish the Career Development Program in honor of his parents created a hub of resources for all engineering and industrial technology majors; it houses many student-centered and career-oriented programs including Engineering Ambassadors, Designing Leaders, Engineering & Technology Week coordination, and more. The second Donor Spotlight of today is Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS). They supported the education and training for undergraduate and graduate nursing students in the area of critical care, which encompasses cardiovascular health, with the two-year renewal of their $50,000 sponsorship in 2021. With previous renewals and additional funds for a new graduate certificate in cardiovascular nursing, the company donated over $325,000 since 2016.
