Foxtail Forge & Farriery / Danvers Child, CJF PROMOTING EQUINE HEALTH AND WELFARE FROM THE GROUND UP.... In 2018, he was inducted, as the 141st member, into the International Horseshoeing Hall of Fame.

Foxtail Forge & Farriery is home to Danvers Child, an AFA Certified Journeyman Farrier, based in Indiana. In addition to his home practice, which focuses primarily on dressage, Danvers travels extensively, as a farrier and as a consultant and specialist for farrier concerns. He served as a Farrier Supervisor and Coordinator for the Alltech FEI 2010 World Equestrian Games and serves as an Official Farrier for the LRK3DE (Land Rover Kentucky 3-Day Event). A proponent of continuing education and voluntary certification, Danvers spent 20 years working as a tester and examiner in the American Farrier's Association's (AFA) certification program and conducts clinics and workshops for the farrier community throughout North America. He served as Editorial Director for the AFA and as Editor of Professional Farrier magazine. He's received numerous American Horse Publications (AHP) awards for his work including Best Instructional Article, Editorial Event Coverage, and an Honorable Mention for the coveted AHP's Overall Excellence Award. In addition to his work within the farrier community, Danvers maintains an active role within the larger equine community. With his partner, April Raine, he owns and operates EquiDesis, LLC., an equine-focused editorial & design firm. He produces and reviews articles for numerous publications and serves within a variety of organizations, including service as a board member for the Certified Horsemanship Association and the Indiana Horse Council.

A yesterday or two ago, I met a youngster who impressed me tremendously. I knew then that Chuck was going to “go places” as a farrier; i just didn’t realize where those “places” would be. So it was wonderful to meet up and catch up as he made it back from his latest journey, where he served as the official farrier for jumping and dressage at the Paris Olympics. So proud of this man!!
