“There must be provision for the child to have contact with nature; to understand and appreciate the order, the harmony and the beauty in nature.”

During Montessori Education Week, we celebrated individuality and unity, the beautiful balance at the heart of Montessori education.

Elementary students explored reflective poetry and built a timeline tracing Dr. Maria Montessori’s remarkable contributions. Primary students painted flowers in her honor. And yes… we even had a baby alligator visit!

Happy February! We love the first days of the month with brand new shelves in Practical Life. This month, we focus on care of self and sewing. In culture, we study Africa and Louisiana as we prepare for Mardi Gras. In Language, we dive into a deep study of the noun, digraphs, and long vowels. In math, we continue with addition and multiplication and begin our study of subtraction. This month is one for the books! ❤️❤️

🌟 Big News from Montessori of Acadiana! 🌟
We’re building something beautiful in Lafayette — We are renovating a new addition to our campus that will serve generations of curious, kind, and confident children.

And now YOU can be part of our foundation — literally!

Become a Founding Member of our renovation by purchasing a personalized brick or plaque with your family’s name, your child’s name, a teacher’s name, or in honor/memory of someone special. These will be permanently displayed for everyone to see and cherish.

Every brick and plaque helps us open our doors and grow our Montessori community even stronger.
