During Montessori Education Week, we celebrated individuality and unity, the beautiful balance at the heart of Montessori education.

Elementary students explored reflective poetry and built a timeline tracing Dr. Maria Montessori’s remarkable contributions. Primary students painted flowers in her honor. And yes… we even had a baby alligator visit!

Happy February! We love the first days of the month with brand new shelves in Practical Life. This month, we focus on care of self and sewing. In culture, we study Africa and Louisiana as we prepare for Mardi Gras. In Language, we dive into a deep study of the noun, digraphs, and long vowels. In math, we continue with addition and multiplication and begin our study of subtraction. This month is one for the books! ❤️❤️

A Legacy in the Making

✨ A huge thank you to Hannah Gumbo for visiting Montessori of Acadiana- Elementary this week! ✨

Our students enjoyed a special opportunity to collaborate with a talented local artist while making beautiful peace doves. It was so inspiring to watch the children light up as they explored new ideas and expressed themselves through art.

We are so grateful for the time, energy, and creativity Ms. Gumbo shared with us. Experiences like these remind us how powerful community partnerships can be in enriching the lives of our children. 💫🎨

🌞🎨 You can spot Hannah Gumbo’s happy, colorful art sprinkled all across Lafayette — little bursts of sunshine on our walls and in our hearts. Her work is a true love letter to our community. 💛✨

A huge THANK YOU to Schoolhouse Safari at Safari Station for bringing their amazing insect experience to camp! We loved meeting all the bugs and beetles up close 🐞🕷️🪲 Thank you to Kona Ice for keeping us cool every week with your sweet treats 🍧

We had a blast with bug-themed crafts, movement games, and fun learning activities. Buggin’ Around week was crawling with fun! 🐛💛
